Here's my favourite Dean Jones quote, from a report looking back on defeat Jones inspired Derbyshire (Derbyshire!) to inflict on the Australians in 1997:
"Shane was at his peak of his powers and could get wickets bowling on the M1. Dean said to me something that took me by surprise. He asked me 'how do you play an off-spinner?' I said I run down the wicket, get to the pitch of the ball and hit him over mid-on. He said that's how you play Shane Warne. I was like OK. He said play him the same way like he's an off-spinner. Hit him over wide mid-on. And it worked."
What a beautiful eulogy. He wasn't perfect but he had the swagger, the zinc, the chewing gum and murderous flick over square leg. He was my childhood hero too. Go Well Deano.
I will miss his tweeter banter with Styris...years to come, I am huge cricket lover, huge love strong cricket character like Deano..left too early...poor me
Thank you for that, Mr Kimber.

You did him just right Jarrod. As we say in Ireland, sorry for your troubles.

This is how someone gone should be remembered! With all their human glory and flaws.
