Can't blame the intent but once he came down and saw the ball turning more than he expected he could've changed the shot to a bunt defense or something

Your article makes me dislike Rohit Sharma a little bit less. Enjoyed it.

It's just that a collection of impressions have been made over the years watching Rohit bat. 1) His average abroad is not great. 2) His running between the wickets has not been sharp. (Perhaps improved now) 3) I can't remember one match winning innings or match defining innings he has played in SA, England or Australia in Test cricket.

Having said that I am hoping he finally plays THAT MATCH WINNING innings on the 5th day of this fourth test! C'mon Rohit.

The thing though is that he has made the same error multiple times when trying to accelerate the innings. The risk he took would have made more sense had there not been fielders at long-on and deep square leg. Of course, he would have backed himself to clear them both but in my opinion that shot was still high risk low reward.

Also I know it can be harsh but if it's the same "superb delivery" for 5 dismissals nearly in a row then as a top order test batsman you have to make some changes to technique to counter it (pujara) - rahane's dismissals are just too ugly to accept, if he didn't have that Melbourne innings there would be non-stop talk of the demise of his batting skills
