You mentioned Holder averages 27 overs per test match while Stokes 23. Clearly, Holder is frontline bowler for West Indies while Stokes, as good as he is, not a frontline bowler for England. I think the low overs per test match for Holder might be due to the fact he plays nearly half his games in West Indies where innings are small. I recollect Holder bowled only 4 overs and a bit picking 2 wickets when Bangladesh made only 43.

He's clearly not a joke, average of 28, but with five hundreds. Incredible strike rate with the ball, more middling bowling average. Don't think he has ever been. Think there was scepticism early on, but he's always been pretty well respected.
