Oh that's wonderful, thank you. I seem to have some dust in my eye...

Wonderful read Jarrod! I remember the midwicket slog sweep you were talking about and that is because he hit some amazing sixes for RCB in their chase against KKR In 2009. It is still the first thing I remember about Ross Taylor! The other being the innings in Pallekele in CWC 2011 against Pakistan.

Such an amazing player, thank you writing about him and Martin Crowe's relationship with him.

Really enjoyed it!

Love your work Jarrod but spotted a common error made by those outside of NZ. Rosscoe is not Maori, he is Samoan. Notable players of Maori heritage include:

Trent Boult

Shane Bond

Doug Bracewell

Kyle Mills

Daryl Tuffey

Craig McMillan

Heath Davis

Kieran Noema-Barnett

Adam Parore

Anaru Kitchen

Suzie Bates

Ben Wheeler (cricketer)

Great read on a great career. But thing that jumped out is the position of McCullum and Vettori in the partnerships table. Are there many higher totals for a pair batting that far down the order?
