I don't know who is asking for Shreyas to replace Rahane. Shreyas has a problem with the short ball. He isn't that good as he is made out to be. However, Rahane must be replaced but not with Shreyas.
That's a terrific way of looking at Rahane vs Iyer. I absolutely love how you break down numbers so simply, in a logical manner. Thanks, great read.
A couple questions came to my mind reading this. A lot of talk about Rahane has built up basis his form and inability to play big knocks in tests. Another way to look at this problem would be - the manner of dismissals. As cricket fans, it's gutting to see batsmen get out to soft dismissals. Without a number in mind, I think Rahane has been getting out softly -and often that adds undue pressure.
Thanks for taking this up in more detail! I've been a Rahane fan since a long time now, and was getting worried that his days might be numbered (not because they should be, but because that's how it might go) and was looking for worthy replacements. I do think that Shreyas might make a better #3, probably. But this article puts things in a better perspective!

As sanjay majrekar has been saying lately, the manner of rahane's dismissals lately indicate issues in the mind

Thoughts instead of questions*

(I asked this question, btw)
