The only problem with that is that Rahul has not really understood what must he do once he is in the middle. If he is asked to open, he will go into a shell. On the otherhand, if he comes in the middle order with just 5-10 overs left, that is when the real Rahul will emerge. It seems he simply does not have a game inbetween. Either completely subdued or completely aggressive.

Everything else I agree with though. The Ed Cowan one is interesting. I like the fact some selectors are now starting to select teams Asian Test squads and non Asian tests squads e.g Foakes, Anderson, etc. You need real balls to be a selector to not pick someone for an Asian tour when they made a century in their last test in home seam friendly conditions though.

Good article. Disagree with the Warner bit though. Someone can be out of form especially at the start of an innings. But you'd expect someone after 20 balls to be almost fully set in t20 - in 2018, in the 6 matches he got to 20 balls, he then only went on at 128 SR in those games , way below the average. I think he was badly out of form, especially once set after such a long period out of action. I think he just used the CPL and Global T20 games as a glorified net session to get some balls and middle time under his belt before getting back in the Aus team and wasn't too fussed about the teams results. His reluctance to accelerate in any of those innings in 2018 was pretty selfish in my opinion.
